A performance of ANANSE STORIES will be performed on Thursday 23rd March commencing at 2pm in the MPC. ANANSE STORIES is aimed at all students from Kindergarten to Year 8.
The ANANSE STORIES not only describes the exploits of the folkloric spider character "Ananse" in the forests of Ashanti through traditional storytelling, but also reveals many aspects of Ghanian culture.
The ANANSE STORIES is performed by Sam Derchie who is a descendent of the Ashanti people of Ghana in West Africa. After completing his studies of African Literature, Sam worked as a professional musician and composer before migrating to Australia in 1982. He has toured extensively with this performance.
